I'm John, and I run Nerd Alert, a small, garage-based electronics repair and rehoming service based in Rocklin, California. I’ve been working on electronics since I was a kid, and I started Nerd Alert to give old tech a second chance—through repairs, upgrades, or by finding it a new home.
At Nerd Alert, the goal is simple: keep good gear out of the landfill by making it useful again.
What I Do
- Repairs & Upgrades: I diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, and game consoles—fixing hardware issues, replacing parts, doing deep cleanings, and improving thermal performance.
- Pickup of Old or Broken Tech: If you're clearing out unused electronics—computers, consoles, A/V gear, or gadgets—I offer free pickup in Roseville and nearby areas.
- Refurbished Systems: Need a trustworthy computer? I can often provide reliable, repairable, and supportable systems using refurbished parts—great for everyday use without planned obsolescence.
How It Works
- Free pickup for unwanted tech donations
- $80 pickup fee for devices needing diagnosis or repair
- Drop-off and mail-in options available for both donations and repairs
- Repaired devices can be returned by mail or local handoff
- By appointment only – email hi@nerdalerthq.com to schedule service
Whether you're looking to fix a broken device, clear out old gear, or get a solid computer that won’t end up as e-waste, I’m here to help. Thanks for supporting local, repair-first work.
